About the Job

Cityside Fiber is seeking a motivated Warehouse Driver to join our Warehouse team. This role is responsible for safely operating a 20-ton stakebed truck to load, secure, and deliver conduit, fiber optic cable reels, and related materials, and plays a key part in keeping materials moving to our crews, job sites, and customers. Success in this position requires a strong commitment to safety, dependability, and professional communication, strong organizational abilities, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate a 20-ton stakebed truck for local deliveries and pickups.
  • Load, unload, transport, and properly secure materials and equipment.
  • Safely handle and transport reels of conduit, fiber optic cable, wire, pipe, and related materials.
  • Properly strap, tie down, chain, block, and secure reels and other cargo to prevent shifting or movement during transportation.
  • Inspect cargo and tie-down equipment before leaving the warehouse and throughout the trip.
  • Verify that loads are properly distributed and within applicable weight limits.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Maintain accurate delivery paperwork, bills of lading, delivery tickets, and related documentation.
  • Follow all applicable DOT, FMCSA, California DMV, and company safety regulations.
  • Follow proper procedures for cargo securement and ensure all loads are safe before operating the vehicle.
  • Safely maneuver and back the truck in warehouses, construction sites, customer locations, and tight areas.
  • Assist warehouse personnel with loading and unloading materials as needed.
  • Operate forklifts or other warehouse equipment when authorized and properly trained.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe truck, warehouse, and loading area.
  • Report vehicle maintenance issues, damaged materials, unsafe conditions, or load concerns immediately.
  • Communicate professionally with warehouse personnel, customers, vendors, and dispatch.
  • Follow assigned delivery schedules and routes while maintaining a strong commitment to safety and on-time service.
  • Perform other warehouse and delivery duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of commercial driving experience, including 3+ years on a 20-ton stakebed
  • Must be at least 21 years of age to meet the company's commercial auto insurance requirements.
  • Proven experience transporting heavy and oversized materials.
  • Hands-on experience strapping, chaining, tying down, blocking, and securing cargo.
  • Experience handling conduit reels, fiber optic cable reels, electrical materials, pipe, or similar construction materials strongly preferred.
  • Valid California Commercial Driver's License appropriate for the vehicle being operated.
  • Clean and safe driving record.
  • Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA regulations and California commercial vehicle requirements.
  • Ability to perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
  • Ability to safely operate a heavy truck in local traffic, warehouses, construction sites, and customer locations.
  • Ability to lift, move, and handle warehouse materials as required.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Dependable, punctual, safety-conscious, and able to work independently.
  • Good communication and organizational skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the telecommunications, electrical, utility, construction, conduit, or fiber optic industry.
  • Forklift experience/certification.
  • Experience loading and unloading cable and conduit reels.
  • Knowledge of cargo securement requirements for heavy and cylindrical loads.
  • Familiarity with local Orange County and Southern California delivery routes.
  • Experience working in a warehouse environment.
